Once you visit Lindos you won’t want to say goodbye. Lindos was one of the ancient cities of Rhodes and it is a present day UNESCO World Heritage site. The village nestles in the shadow of the famous Acropolis. There has been a temple on the site going back far into antiquity and the Temple of Athena, still standing at the site, dates to 400BC.
Its history is still important to the look and feel of Lindos today. When you amble down the winding car free streets, and see the ‘Captains Houses’ once occupied by the local sea Captains and visit the historic home of the Knights of St John, you feel like you are a part of the history of this very special place.
The streets are still lined with little shops, tavernas and restaurants just as they have been for millennia and by staying in the village it won’t be long before you are saying ‘yassou’ to locals as you pass by.
Lindos is blessed by having beaches on two sides which cater for different needs, from water sports on Pallas Beach to the more gentle and ‘Greece of the seventies’ atmosphere of St Paul’s Bay.
Villa Eros is in the heart of the village about 100 meters from the famous Yiannis’ Bar and just few minutes’ walk from the beaches. Whilst you stay at the villa you will feel and become part of this lovely community, it’s a feeling that’s hard to describe but one that’s well known to the people that love this magical place.
Lindos is not just a holiday, it’s a way of life, the only danger is you might get hooked or as we say ‘Lindossed’!
